PageScope Data Administrator

 

The PageScope Data Administrator is an application software especially designed to reduce the administrator's workload by simplifying data management and renewal of registered data of the MFP. Information delivery between the PC and MFP becomes easier and the work hours needed to maintain data is greatly reduced.

The following functions have been implemented as standard to support the MFP's main management jobs.

  1. Browse Device Setting

    • System information
    • Counter information
  2. Administrator Setting Management

    • Device management information setting
    • Time setting
    • Security setting
    • Power supply management setting
    • Network setting
    • Support setting
  3. User/Address Information Management

    • User information for authentication
    • Address book
  4. Backup Data Management

    • HDD data backup (including data on Compact Flash and NVRAM)

 

The following features allow easy selection of devices and simplify routine work by reducing the number of tasks.

Search and Register MFPs that are Connected to the Network

Utilize the search function to easily locate and register MFPs that are connected to the network.

Configurable items that can be used to search for devices include:
• IP address 
• Subnet mask
• Community name
• User name
• Context name
• Port No

List of Devices

Devices that are registered in the PageScope Data Administrator are displayed in a list.
Device selection becomes simpler as there is no need to locate each one manually.



Data Import/Export

Existing can be imported and exported swiftly. This speeds up workflow and cuts down on time when installing and managing devices.



From an MFP

The administrator can import data such as user information and management settings from the listed MFP.


From an LDAP Server

The administrator can search and import data using LDAP protocol. The browse function enables data import from directory servers such as Windows Active Directory, Lotus Domino Server, and NDS eDirectory.


From Files
When creating new files, data import of the following text file formats is possible.
Supported text file formats include:
XML, CSV, TAB, LDIF, and Lotus Notes Structured Text

When Exporting Data

Edited data can be exported to MFPs and saved as the following file formats.


  • User list in TabText format.
  • Account data in TabText format.
  • Abbreviated address data
    in TabText format.
  • All device settings data
    to PSDA format.

Intuitive GUI

Various settings such as changing the MFP's Administrator Settings via PC can be operated easily with the user-friendly GUI.


Device Grouping

Devices on the network can be managed simultaneously by grouping them, such as all the devices in one department. Up to 100 groups can be registered.


Template

Data can be easily edited and arranged using templates to reduce workload. The administrator can use the following registered templates or add new ones to suit the data. Up to 100 templates can be registered.

  • Authentication mode templates
  • User data templates
  • Group data templates
  • Weekly timer templates
  • IP filtering templates


Copy Device Settings

Authentication data settings and addresses that are registered on an MFP can be copied to another MFP.



Bulk Editing (Available Soon)

The administrator can add a user or edit user data registered in several devices to multiple devices all in one time. In addition, authentication data settings and addresses that are registered on an MFP can be copied to several MFPs simultaneously. This simplifies and streamlines data management.

 

 

Easily manage registered address information and authentication data settings.

 

 

Department Registration

Use the templates when registered department information or editing information for efficient and quick data management. The administrator can set output permissions or limits on the number of outputs for each department with the account tracking function that is incorporated into the MFP.


User Authentication

In order to prevent unauthorized use, the user authentication setting permits only registered users to operate the MFP. The function restriction setting limits usage of the MFP for every user.


Address Management

Registered addresses on the MFP can be easily edited on a PC. Edited data is shown in the MFP address book immediately, assuring the user the most up-to-date information.

  • Abbreviation Addresses
  • Group Addresses

Calling Up Utilities

HDD Backup Utility

The following data can be backed up by using this utility.

  • Image data (scanned and printed)
  • Completed job data
  • Device settings data (MIB, IP address, HTTP, etc.)
  • Administration data (Authentication, Account tracking)
  • Addresses list
  • Font data
  • Network related data

Font Management Utility

Fonts that are installed on a PC can be downloaded to the MFP by using this utility.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Transferring the AdministratorÕs Job to Power Users

The administrator can save the set job restriction as an access restriction file and securely distribute it to each power user. The power user can then access the distributed file, and implement various settings according to the set job restriction. instead of the administrator.

Encryption password:
Input the encryption password to open the function access restriction file.

Editing password:
Input the editing password to edit the function access restriction file.

Screen 2:

The administrator can set the job restriction of a power user.
